I took lots of inspiration from the signs made by ralliers and protestors at events such as the Trans March.
Project Background
Anti-trans legislation seeks to restrict the rights and protections of trans individuals, particularly in areas such as healthcare, education, and sports. These bills often seek to deny trans people access to gender-affirming healthcare, limit their ability to participate in school sports consistent with their gender identity, and restrict their ability to change their gender markers on official documents.
My project, "Visible," represents what people in the trans community are fighting for. Many transgender people are forced to become invisible and hide their gender identity, whether by community or family members, or by government legislation.
